ECO-CONSCIOUS
Here at Olive Roe, we have two passions, creating beautiful and functional personal care products and sustainability. We firmly believe these two values do not have to be competing, they are not mutually exclusive. The planet does not have to suffer for us to enjoy cosmetic products.
Although it can be difficult as a small independent brand, it is still our duty to personally mitigate our environmental footprint in an effort to help secure a better future for life on Earth. This is why the environmental impact of our business practices is at the forefront of every decision made at Olive Roe, our love doe our planet is always taken into consideration.
INGREDIENTS
We do not use any animal-derived ingredients in any of our products.
We only use ingredients that are safe for our planet and everyone involved in creating the ingredients.
We do not use palm oil in any of our products.
PRODUCT PACKAGING
We do not use wasteful packaging and are conscious of where our jars, bottles and tubes end up once our customers are done with them, so we strive to reduce our use of plastic.
The majority of our product packaging is locally sourced and manufactured here in the UK, keeping the transportation carbon footprint to a minimum.
Whenever possible, we use fully recyclable glass jars and bottles or metal tins that can be reused, repurposed or recycled.
We use caps and pumps made from Polypropylene (PP plastic) that are widely recyclable. Additionally, polypropylene does not leach harmful chemicals into liquids.
For the safety of our customers, we do use plastic jars for some of our products that are used in the bath and shower. These jars are made from 100% recycled material.
We use biodegradable shrink wrap to package our soaps.
SHIPPING
We operate on an electronic downloadable invoice policy to reduce our paper use.
All of our packing material is environmentally friendly, using boxes made from recycled cardboard and making use of packing material from the deliveries we receive here at the studio.
There are also a few things you can also do as a consumer:
1. Refuse to purchase products that harm you and the environment. Use the power of your dollar to let brands know what you want and want is important to you.
2. Reduce your consumption. Consider the things you buy in comparison to the things you actually use. What is the minimum amount necessary? Could you use less?
3. Reuse and repurpose the things you already own rather than buying something new. Replace single-use items with things that can be utilised over and over again.
4. If all else fails recycle.
